Methodology and editorial standards

A clear account of where The Alae’s match analysis comes from, what the model can do, and where it stops.

Source practice

Match schedules, draws, results, and player information are checked against official tournament and tour sources where available. Each time-sensitive article links to the sources used for its match facts. A source link does not mean the source endorses The Alae’s opinion.

The win-probability model

The Alae uses an in-house ATP match win-probability model as a decision aid. Depending on the available data, its inputs may include ranking, recent results, surface context, and serve and return performance. The model output is a probability estimate, not a prediction of a certain outcome or a substitute for watching the match.

Where an article cites a model version, probability, or validation metric, that figure applies to the model version and data available when the article was published. Model figures and charts are labeled as The Alae’s analysis.

Opinions, odds, and risk

Match calls are editorial opinions. Market prices, if mentioned, are context and can move quickly. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, or betting advice; do not treat a model probability or a pick as a guarantee.
